How to convert an Estimate to an Invoice?

In Shop Boss, all Estimates and invoices are referred to as Repair Orders.  The only difference between an Estimate and an Invoice is the status of the Repair Order.

For example, if you create a new Repair Order and the status is Inspection, when you print the Repair Order out, it will be labeled as an Estimate.  If however you have completed the work and the status is Final, when you print it for the customer it will say Invoice.

We simplified this process so there is no need to "convert" an Estimate to an Invoice.  In Shop Boss, they are one and the same.

Below is a list showing the status of the Repair Order and whether it shows as an Estimate or Invoice.

Statuses that print as Estimate:

  • Inspection
  • Approval
  • Parts
  • Assembly
  • Q-Check

Statuses that print as Invoice:

  • Final
  • Closed
