This article shows you how to set up a default warranty for your company and also how to change them as needed at the RO level

Create a Company Wide Warranty for Months and Miles

  • From the Main WIP Screen, click Settings
  • Click Company
  • At the bottom left of the page fill in the Warranty Months and Warranty Miles. These are the default months and miles that are your minimum warranty and will be shown on every Repair Order unless changed at the RO level.
  • Click Save Changes

Setting Warranty Disclosures

Your Shop Boss account has a pre filled warranty disclosure included that will populate on every print preview of a Repair Order. To customize the content, follow these steps:

  • From the Main WIP Screen, click Settings
  • Click Custom Settings
  • Click Disclosures
  • Fill in or type over the content in the Warranty Disclosure in this box
  • Do not change " [warrantymonths] months or [warrantymiles] miles" as this is where the default warranty months and miles are inserted automatically from creating the setting on the Shop Boss Company page.

Changing Warranty content for a particular RO

If special circumstances create the need for and adjustment of content for a warranty, the warranty can be updated in the Repair Order without changing the Settings and affecting all other subsequent Repair Orders.

  • Click on the dark green bar on the right of the Ro screen that says Revisions/Payments/Fees/More
  • Click Warranties

  • To Edit the Months and Miles, click Edit Warranty
  • Fill in the Months and Miles, click Save

NOTE: As long as the warranty miles and warranty months are in the Settings > Company page and not edited in Custom Settings " [warrantymonths] months or [warrantymiles] miles" on the disclosure page the new amounts will be printed on your RO

  • To edit the content  of your warranty click on the blue button "Show Disclosures"

  • Edit the content by typing over the existing text in the "Warranty Disclosure" section.  Again, make sure you do not change the wording in the brackets.
  • The changes you make here will ONLY AFFECT THE CURRENT RO, it will not change the default wording.
