Using the Carfax Integration
First: Go to Settings and set up your Carfax Integration
- From your Main WIP, click on Settings
- Click Integrations
- Find and click on Carfax
- A box will pop up to register
- Fill out the information and click Register
Once you choose Register it will take you to the FAQ page where you will want to choose Accept Agreement. The finalization usually takes about 24 hours to be completed.
Once the integration has been completed, follow the stops below.
There are 3 ways you can use Carfax in Shop Boss
- VIN and / or Licenses Plate Decoding
- Look up Carfax Service History Report
- Automatic reporting of completed (Closed Status) repairs
VIN and / or Licenses Plate Decoding
When adding a Vehicle onto a Customers File:
- Click on Add Vehicle at the bottom of the page
- Click Open Carfax at the bottom of the window
- Enter either the VIN or the License Plate number and License State abbreviation
- Click Lookup
It will decode the VIN or pull information off the license Plate.
This will fill in the:
- VIN
- Year
- Make
- Model
- Engine
- Drive
Looking up Carfax Service History Report
- From the RO Menu, click Carfax Svc History
- This will bring up all the repairs that have been reported to Carfax either by the vehicles VIN or Licenses Plate.
- When complete with review, click close at the bottom right corner of the screen
Reporting Vehicle Repairs
Once you close the RO (As long as you are Integrated with Carfax) all repairs made on that RO will auto transfer over to Carfax.
